Frequently Asked Questions
Are you registered?
Yes! I am a home-based cake studio with both insurance & a food license with the Gold Coast Council. Please enquire within if you wish to see a copy of this.
Where & how do I collect my cake?
I am a home-based cake studio in Paradise Point & offer collection windows. Upon booking, you can select a collection window on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
If you are needing a cake for Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, you are more than welcome to collect on a Saturday! My cakes last perfectly in the fridge for up to five days.
Do you offer delivery?
For single tiered cakes & cupcakes (weddings not included) unfortunately as I don’t have a team or use a dedicated delivery service, I’m unable to offer delivery for single-tier cakes or cupcakes.
If you require delivery for a single-tier cake or cupcakes, you are welcome to arrange an Uber Courier to collect your order from the studio and deliver it to your chosen location. Please note that Uber Courier is a third-party service and is arranged and paid for by the customer. Once your order has been collected by the courier, responsibility for the cake transfers to the customer, and With Love Bakery cannot be held responsible for any damage, delays or issues that occur during third-party transportation.
Larger two-tiered & slab cakes will require delivery, and this is something I’m able to provide directly.
Wedding cake delivery will always be available, so you can relax knowing your cake will arrive safely and be ready for your big day.
How should I store my cake?
In the fridge until 2 hours before it is served! No one likes a cold hard cake, so please allow it time to come to room temperature before serving.
Keep out of direct sunlight and use your own discretion if it is a particularly hot day. Cakes are are at their best at room temp
How long will my cake last?
I suspect you won't have any leftovers! But if you do, my cake is fresh for 5 days after collection if stored correctly.
Can you offer GF / DF?
I can! However please note I can’t guarantee there won’t be traces of gluten, as our other cakes are made with plain flour and we operate from a shared pastry kitchen.
How far in advance should I order?
As a small bakery, I recommend placing your order as early as possible to secure your preferred date and avoid disappointment. 🤍
Online store orders close at 12pm every Wednesday for cakes being collected Thursday–Saturday that same week.
Need something last minute? You’re always welcome to reach out and I’ll do my best to accommodate your order, depending on availability.
Can you copy another design I have as my inspo?
No 🤍
Every cake I create is designed specifically for you and your celebration. I absolutely love when you send through inspiration photos — they help me understand the style, colours, details and overall feel you’re looking for.
While I won’t copy another cake artist’s design exactly, I can take the elements you love from your inspiration photos and use them as a starting point to create something that feels unique to your cake.
When filling out your booking form, please include all of the important details you’d love to see on your cake, including colours, decorations, wording, flowers, piping, themes or any other elements that are important to you.
The more detail you give me, the better I can bring your vision to life while still putting my own With Love Bakery spin on it. 🤍
What is your cancellation policy?
All purchases made via my online shop and custom cakes can be cancelled with at least 7 days' notice; however, you will forfeit your deposit. Or for online orders, $50 will be deducted from your refund. I do not accept cancellations within 7 days.
Can you tell me what a cake costs?
Yes! Enquire with me via laura@withlovebakerygc.com or via Instagram to find info on my next taster box date.
I do not respond to messages requesting pricing over texts/ Instagram messages I'm sorry! Please submit an enquiry.
Can I make changes to my order?
If you need to change details or your order, just sent me an email with your invoice number in the subject heading to laura@withlovebakerygc.com with your changes.
Please note, I cannot guarantee it, and I cannot make changes to your order within 72 hours. Please wait to hear from me with a confirmation of your changes. I can only accept amendments in writing, via email.
Can you tell me how much a cake costs?
Sure can! But not via messages. I have a price guide page, and a cake store you can find pricing within. To receive a quote for a cake enquiry, you can also submit a custom cake enquiry. Once I receive it, I will email through a formal quote.
How quickly will I receive a quote/ response?
Typically, pretty quickly! I respond to enquiries & emails within 1-2 days, however, please note that Thursdays & Fridays are super busy in the cake studio, so I may take longer to respond.
For genuine urgent enquiries, please contact me via text message.
Why are your cakes priced the way they are?
My cakes are made with quality in mind and have taller cake layers than the traditional size (more cake, yay!). From the ingredients I use to the height, flavour and detail of every cake. I use high-quality ingredients, generous taller layers and recipes that I’ve developed and refined over time. You’re also paying for the skill, experience and time that goes into designing, baking, filling, decorating and finishing each cake by hand.
I’m a one-person business, which means I wear a lot of hats — from designing and baking your cake, to shopping for ingredients, cleaning, packaging, ordering supplies, answering enquiries, managing bookings, doing admin and everything in between! I completely understand that everyone has a different budget. If you have a specific budget in mind, please get in touch and I may be able to suggest a smaller cake or a simpler option that works within your budget.
